Volunteer in Victoria May 2026

Why Eastern Lions Kart Club? We are welcoming, family-focused, member-based club, driven by a passionate committee, volunteers, members, and sponsors. Every helping hand counts, whether it’s an hour, a day, or a full weekend.

Interested in Volunteering? You don’t need to be a driver to get involved! ELKC is proudly 100% volunteer-run, and we’re always looking for extra hands, from groundskeeping, working bees, canteen support and race-day officials. Make a Difference.

In karting, volunteers play a vital role in keeping the sport running. From race-day officials and safety marshals to event organisers and club helpers, every contribution helps create a safe, exciting, and professional environment for drivers and spectators alike.

It’s a unique opportunity to get closer to the action, learn the inner workings of motorsport, and contribute to the growth of the racing community.Through volunteering, you’ll gain valuable experience in teamwork, communication, and leadership—all while building friendships with people who share your passion. You’ll develop confidence, expand your network, and experience the satisfaction of knowing your efforts make a difference on and off the track.

Most importantly, volunteering brings a strong sense of purpose. Whether you’re helping a young driver take their first lap or supporting a major race event, every role matters. Together, volunteers help power the spirit of karting and keep the community moving forward. Not all volunteers have family racing; they’re simply part of the Eastern Lions family. Get involved. Support the sport. Be part of the drive. Ask our team how to get involved.

Just want to drive? We have got you. An ELKC Membership along with a Karting Australia Licence is a good start , these combined allows applicants to access to Social Karting and ELKC Organised Social Karting, amongst other club advantages. Ideal way to build confidence, learn race craft, and progress through Cadet, Junior, or Senior classes.

A Karting Australia (KA) licence is required to participate in karting at any affiliated track or event, ensuring the sport remains safe, fair, and professionally managed. It confirms you understand the rules and safety procedures needed for on‑track driving, while also providing personal accident and public liability insurance during approved practice and race activities.

Holding a valid licence allows you to compete in official events, club days, and practice sessions, and ensures all drivers meet consistent standards for fair competition. It also supports your progression in the sport, helping you build skills and advance through different racing levels as your experience grows.

Karting is one of the most fun, exciting, and cost‑effective forms of motorsport in Australia. It’s the perfect weekend sport for families, offering a social, healthy, and rewarding environment surrounded by a friendly community of like‑minded people.
